Beautiful Candles To Brighton Up Your Mood

Wood sconces make the perfect addition to any room. Simply by adding one or two to the wall of your living room, you will completely transform the atmosphere. There are of course a few safety guidelines that you will need to follow and inform your family about. As long as you are careful and use common sense, these beautifully crafted sconces should be completely safe to use near a lit flame.

Many wood sconces are handmade and created by someone with a passion for artistic design so you can rest assured that these pieces will adorn your walls nicely. However, wood sconces have a variety of uses, not just for decoration. Have you considered using the candles to set the mood in a room, for a little light when reading or even just as a feature in the room?

As a candle does not project as much light as an electric bulb, several wall sconces in different areas of the room can provide a beautiful atmosphere. The colour of the light from a candle is also completely different, an electric light often provides harsh, bright and clinical light compared to the warm orange glow of a candle.

It is this colour and warmth that creates such cosy and intimate environments whilst maintaining practicality. As wooden sconces are on the walls, they are often behind you, thus providing excellent reading lights, illuminating the pages just enough without glaring into your eyes. Perhaps you are more interested in using a wall sconce as a focal point for the room, if so, look for a sconce which is slightly larger and has enough intricate detail to stand up to the challenge you have set.

Naturally, people are often concerned with fire safety when using candles and wood sconces as it an open flame. To be sure that your candle will not touch the wood, place the sconce in an area that is unlikely to get knocked, and at least above head level. Another tip is to avoid using candles in rooms that are occupied by children and young adults, particularly if they are unaware of their presence.

One more thing to consider when placing your wood sconces on the wall is that the wax from the candle can drip to the floor and down the wall. You might want to think about not placing a sconce above a bare carpet or too close to the wall to prevent any nasty stains.

When choosing a wooden sconce, make sure you take into account what you plan to use the ornament for, the colour scheme of your interior décor and the size of the room. All these factors can influence the style and design of the wood sconces you opt for - plus there is nothing worse than finding a piece you love and then thinking that you have nowhere to put it!

If you have thought about all the things mentioned above, you should find wall sconces that are able to provide you with a number of uses. You can find wood sconces in plenty of high street stores or even online if you are having difficulty. There are plenty of possibilities with candle decorations, so there is bound to be one which is perfect for you.
